Powerboat P1 has released new dates for its race event in New Orleans that will see the P1 Offshore and AquaX jet ski racing move to the weekend of June 27-29.
Making the announcement earlier, Thomas Covington, head of P1 Offshore USA, explained that the change had been made to avoid clashing with the Lake of the Ozarks event. “New Orleans will kick off our new P1 Offshore Triple Crown series at Lake Pontchartrain in southeastern Louisiana, with the six-race challenge then heading to Sheboygan in August and St. Petersburg in early September. The Triple Crown will showcase the very best in offshore racing, together with P1 AquaX jet ski action as part of its own national championship, to create an outstanding show for fans and visitors.
Covington continued: “Over the coming weeks, we will be unveiling further details of the Triple Crown event sponsors and partners, prize money and race schedules. All three rounds will be broadcast on MAVTV and our P1 live streaming platforms, with FanDuel Sports Network and leading international sports channels broadcasting post-event coverage. Combining our powerboat and jet ski race series will deliver a double bill of outstanding marine motorsport entertainment and excitement.”
In addition to the Triple Crown, P1 will promote the Thunder On Cocoa Beach event on the weekend of May 16-18.
